Tap

In our level 1 class, tap dancers will start with the basics of tap technique and move on to learn fun combinations that develop memory skills, agility, and musicality.  Dancers will build upon this foundation in our level 2, 3 and 4 classes.  They’ll progress to more advanced technique, combinations, and intricate footwork.  Our tap classes are a staple for the serious musical theatre performer.

Hip Hop

This class will blend the foundations of hip hop dance (popping, locking, etc…) with commercial hip hop style, to create fun and challenging choreography.  It involves a lot of footwork, radical movement and emphasis placed on musicality.

Jazz

Students will focus on the fundamentals of jazz technique along with building strength, flexibility, and performance skills. Classes consist of a warm-up, technical progressions, and choreography. Jazz is a necessary skill that all musical theatre performers would benefit from.

Turns

This class focuses on the fundamental technique of turns. Students will work (and build) on basic turns, complex turns and turn sequences traveling across the floor..

Leaps & Legs

This class will work on flexibility and strength. Students will be working to heighten their extensions and lengthen their lines. The class is structured with a stretching warm-up which leads into the various center and across the floor exercises.

Contemporary

Contemporary essentially borrows from well-known genres such as ballet, modern, jazz, and international forms of dance. It requires strong technical skills, in addition to an open and creative mind, as a lot of contemporary choreography is developed through improvisation. A lot of the movement in contemporary is about speed, strength, control, and change of direction. Because of this, a dancer needs to be well conditioned and trained to avoid injury.

Lyrical

Combining the genres of Jazz and Ballet, Lyrical is a balanced blend of storytelling, grace and style. In these classes, dancers will be encouraged to use their emotions in their dancing as a way to express themselves.  These are great classes for dancers who have experience with ballet or jazz technique.

Strength & Flexibility

A mix of cardio, core strengthening and flexibility exercises , designed specifically for dancers. Exercises will target the hamstrings, gluts, hip flexors, and various muscle groups. The focus is to strengthen and lengthen these muscles to improve jumps, increase extensions, and enhance elasticity without injuries through proper techniques.

Acro

Acro combines traditional dance techniques as well as athletic acrobatic elements. Its unique choreography seamlessly blends artistic dance movement and tricks together. Acro is a challenging dance style and takes a lot of strength and persistence to excel. This style is becoming very popular in the competitive dance world as well as the professional.
