Janelle Amer (she/her) began her classical ballet training in Northern California when she was seven. She studied as a scholarship student under Maria Veigh, Margaret Swarthout and Norbert Vesak at Marin Ballet School, located in San Rafael. Janelle received her Bachelor of Arts, emphasis Dance, in Theatre Arts, from Sonoma State University. She performed and choreographed in multiple performances each semester and guest danced in “Candide” opera. Janelle has been teaching classical ballet to children and adults for over 25 years. As an instructor, she rehearsed productions and performed in annual Nutcrackers and Spring recitals. Janelle studied Pilates Mat work at the PhysicalMind Institute, The Method, in Berkeley, California. Recently, Janelle has brought Pilates Mat and Adult ballet classes to the Escondido Recreation Center. She is delighted to share her knowledge with the students at Project Performer.
